I've had people ask me "How do you have so much time to do crafts with Poppy?". Umm well... Poppy is kind of like my guinea pig. I test out crafts with her before conducting sessions with other paying customers (here's the website: www.buggybeekids.com). That way, I kill two birds with one stone - I make sure the crafts work, and I know how much to simplify/make more challenging for younger/older kids, and at the same time, Poppy also has fun.
Then came the question: Do guinea pigs eat watermelons? No idea. I just know that mine really loved making this craft!
We've reached a point where Poppy now says "I wanna do some craft!". After "I love you Mama", it's one of the nicest things I am hearing.
So, I made a watermelon letter holder with a group of older kids. You can hang it on your child's door and "send" her letters. It's really fun to make and I was surprised that Poppy had no trouble with the ribbon stringing.
