So, being the hoarder that I am, I happened to have a few (OK, ten) boxes lying by (OK, bursting out of my store room). And one morning, we thought about writing to an old friend who had moved back to Japan. Coincidently, that afternoon, we received a letter from her. And people laugh when I say I believe in fate.
Materials
You'll need:
- Cereal boxes
- Hard plastic sheets (we used OHP plastics)
- Magnetic strips (they sell them in rolls at Popular and Daiso)
- Decorative items (we used buttons)
- Glue
- Paint (optional but keeps child occupied for 10 minutes at least, and wouldn't you like that)
- Photos
- Scissors
- Sticky tape
How to make it:
1. Cut out cereal boxes to leave only the 2 big sides
2. Measure and cut out a hole that's slightly smaller than your photo - that's your photo frame
3. Paint photo frame if desired
4. Turn photo frame around, and stick plastic followed by photo on back of frame with sticky tape
5. On sides of frame, stick 2 strips of magnets
6. Decorate front of frame with buttons or sequins
What a wonderful present for little friends, or grandparents! We deliberately made 2 with the same picture so the girls could each have one :)
